Built on the site of a former U.S. military base, the museum is located near the Panama Canal. Its area is 4,000 square meters, including exhibition space and a botanical garden. Visitors to the museum have the opportunity to go through a series of galleries with interactive dioramas, including “Panamarama” – a three-tiered structure with 12 screens, causing the effect of immersion in a rainforest atmosphere.

This work by Frank Gehry is in part reminiscent of his previous works, such as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
